Brining the past
into the present...
Christmas In April Charles County
I personaly serve on the board of directors for Christmas in April Charles County, and believe strongly in what the organization stands for. Here is a little information on this wonderful organization and what it does...
The Christmas in April program began in Midland, Texas in 1973. In 1982, a national headquarters was established in Washington, D.C. To date, over 87,450 homes have been renovated with the help of 2.3 million volunteers, committing to 24 million hours of volunteer time nationwide.

Christmas in April Charles County is the volunteer organization started in 1990 that, in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the houses of low-income homeowners, elderly and disabled, so that they may continue to live in warmth, safety and independence.

After months of planning and preparation, Christmas in April culminates in a National Rebuilding Day on the last Saturday in April. Last year over 800 volunteers of all ages, faiths and walks of life came together to help neighbors in the American barn raising tradition.

Christmas in April Charles County is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of 17 unpaid volunteer members from the community of Charles County.  Elections are held annually and board meetings are usually held the third Tuesday of every month.  The public is invited to attend.  Sam Graves is our current president.
Volunteer Today!
The last Saturday in April, join Christmas in April Charles County in a one day home repair and improvement blitz for elderly and disabled homeowners.  This old-fashioned neighborly event will help rebuild pride for homeowners in need and bring together people of all ages and faith in our community.
